This paper presents the design of compact second-orderbandpass ¯lters based on dual-mode open-loop resonator. A ¯lterdesign procedure is provided to facilitate the design process. The paperalso describes the nature of the inherent transmission zero associatedwith the structure and presents a method of generating two additionalzeros for improving stop-band performance. Finally, a ¯lter designexample is presented to validate the argument.
