In this paper, a wideband ±45◦ dual-polarized antenna is proposed for the wireless communication. An annular ring patch with four arc-shaped slots is employed to generate a wide operating impedance bandwidth. By introducing four open stubs to the antenna element, the impedance bandwidth is enhanced. The antenna has a broad impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 2) of 51.2% (1.63– 2.75 GHz) and a high port-to-port isolation of 27 dB over the entire band of operation. In addition, a 1 × 4 antenna array is developed for the wireless communication. Experimental results illustrate that the antenna array features wide operational bandwidth, high port isolation and superior radiation performance.
