Using a building block approach which combines a transverse resonance method with a mode-matching technique, a rigorous analysis of a lossless bi-isotropic H-guide is presented. First, the modal equation of a parallel-plate waveguide containing the inner medium of the H-guide is obtained. Then, a mode matching technique is used to develop a full-wave analysis of the H-guide. The in∞uence of nonreciprocity on the guidance properties of the structure is discussed.
