A Heterodyne six-port FMCW collision avoidance radar sensor conflguration based on beat signal phase slope techniques is presented in this paper. Digital IF circuitry has been used in order to avoid problems related to DC ofiset and amplitude and phase imbalance. Simulations show that the velocity and range to the target is obtained simultaneously, with very good accuracy. Results are compared to other techniques and system architectures.
