Objective: To verify the prevention habits of facial photoaging in the elderly. Methodology: We selected 40 female volunteers, aged between 60 and 85 years, who were literate and did not present any cognitive alterations. A questionnaire was applied consisting of questions that tracked daily skin care and the correct use of photoprotection. Results: The majority of the elderly (80%) were between 60 and 70 years of age and 52.5% reported daily photoexposure, 62% of whom used a photoprotector, but only 10% used it correctly. The majority had static deep wrinkles (72.5%) and facial hyperchromias (72.5%). Only 12.5% clean the face correctly. Conclusion: It can be verified that the minority of the elderly women were in the correct habits of prevention of facial photo-aging, presenting characteristic alterations of photo-aged skin.
