Religious freedom is a fundamental right constitutionally guaranteed in Brazil, as well as in the most part of the countries around the world, in agreement with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. However, it is easy to note examples of this right violation, mainly in relation to African religious origin, such as Candomblé and Umbanda. The purpose of the present bibliographic analysis is to know and report the explicit intolerance to the Afro-Brazilian religious, showing situations of media relevance due to the violence it is practiced. The qualitative and, at times, quantitative research has as its aim contribute to society awareness that all the religious can coexist inside the same territory, individually respecting the faith of each human being.
