O PAPEL DA TRIBUTAÇÃO: UMA VISÃO ECONÔMICA ENTRE O RECONHECIMENTO E A REDISTRIBUIÇÃO (THE ROLE OF TAXATION: AN ECONOMIC VISION BETWEEN RECOGNITION AND REDISTRIBUTION)

The purpose of this paper is to examine the role played for taxation, through the approach of the recognition and redistribution theories conceived by Axel Honneth and Nancy Fraser as of the conclusions of economist authors who study inequality, particularly Anthony Atkinson, Thomas Piketty and Joseph Stiglitz. The confrontation aims to demonstrate that inequality has increased at the same time that the demands for recognition have emerged and that redistribution can be more effective if it’s based on a better distribution of wealth as a consequence of tax justice.
