School failure in Secondary Education is one of the most serious problems that drag the Spanish educational system. The Initial Professional Qualification Programmes (PCPI) were designed to provide a second chance to failed students or at risk of educational exclusion in this stage. Starting from a mixed or hybrid method research developed in 50 educational centres, it is presented an analysis of the perceptions of teachers and students involved in these programs in the province of Granada, related to its usefulness in the current socio-educational context and their views on the teaching-learning process. The questionnaires were undertaken during the academic year 2011/2012. The entire population was invited, with a total sample of 213 teachers (62.13%) and 803 students (46.44%). Subsequently, we interviewed 12 teachers of PCPI belonging to public and private schools. The quantitative data analysis was performed at two levels, descriptive and inferential (contrast tests not parametric and factorial analysis). In addition, the program MAXQDA 11 was used for the treatment of qualitative data with a vertical analysis of each of the interviewees and a horizontal analysis which allowed us to establish relationships between the various categories and sub -categories emerging. PCPI's greatest achievement is the change of attitude of the student related to the studio, and get a high percentage able to obtain the Secondary Education degree, especially considering the starting motivation of these children who have failed at earlier stages.
