SUMMARYNowadays, it is widely accepted theimportance of treating early occlusal abnormalitiesof clinical significance for thedevelopment of the stomatognathic system. An early treatment would restore the harmonyand the functionality of the craniofacialcomplex, it simplifies the correctiveprocedures, reduces the need for permanenttooth extractions and brings psychologicalbenefits to patients, to name a few. Thepresence of malocclusions should interveneearly to restore proper neural excitation inthe craniofacial complex and provide theconditions necessary for each patient toreceive their growth potential. The anteriorcross bite (MCA) should be treated early toprevent harmful effects on growth and, thedevelopment of the maxilla and mandible,to avoid traumatic occlusal forces andrestore proper muscle contraction patternsin the patient. This article shows some ofthe early treatment options for the MCAin primary and mixed dentition after anaccurate diagnosis.Key words: Anterior cross bite, earlytreatment, class III malocclusion, occlusalplane.
