This article consists of a review of the conceptualization that revolves around knowledge management in organizations and its ramifications by taking account organizational learning, organizational structure, learning models, study of knowledge and intellectual capital. All this followed by an analysis of examples of implementation of models of knowledge management in companies, the relationship between this concept and quality management, innovation processes and information management. In any implementation process, it is necessary to know steps, success stories, proposals aimed at implementing knowledge management models and indicators that help follow the process of monitoring and information gathering, which is then transformed into knowledge. A literature review is carried out on each of these aspects and their relation to innovation processes in enterprises.
