The Bogotan users perception was measured –via surveys– on post-consumer products such as expired drugs, computers, light bulbs, batteries, and tires as part of the Plans for Selective Collection and Environmental Waste Management being implemented since 2009 by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (formerly the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development) with the support of the Colombian National Association of Entrepreneurs (ANDI). It was evidenced that the majority of the consumers are not aware of these waste collection plans mostly because of the lack of information between the different actors (manufacturers, distributors, and marketers) involved in the life cycle of such products.
