The effective operation of organizations depends more and more on the capacity to recognize organizational challenges and mostly on the capacity to evaluate the human resources composing them. Thus, using performance evaluation is important to companies, because they provide the companies to evaluate their employees effectively, highlighting improvements to their organizational environment. The evaluation reports important information to make decisions such as: promotions, transferences, dismissal, training necessity besides awaken new skills. When it’s well planned and coordinated, it offers several medium and long term benefits. This paper aims to accomplish a study case in a financial institution in Northwest Paulista region about the performance evaluation process undertaking from its employees. For this purpose, a bibliographic research about the issue was taken, followed up by a study case. An exploratory method was applied and the instrument for collecting data was a questionnaire, it was applied to 100% of the employees. At the end of the study, the collected data were statistically analyzed and graphically showed to provide a better understanding and to formulate final considerations about the study case. Consequently, it was concluded that performance evaluation is well accepted by people integrating the organization; it indicates that most part of the employees in the researched institution are favorable to the application methodology, they stated that the evaluation process provides them a growth and consequently the organizational development meeting the main goal of this study.
