El principio de objetividad es uno de los principios rectores de la actuacion de las Administraciones Publicas, que en el ambito del urbanismo tiene una de sus manifestaciones mas caracteristicas. La adecuacion de la actuacion publica al principio de objetividad en cuestiones urbanisticas se manifiesta de varias formas. En este trabajo destaco el papel de la participacion ciudadana en la tramitacion de los instrumentos urbanisticos asi como la conexion del principio de objetividad con el principio de interdiccion de la arbitrariedad. Ademas, se analizan las tecnicas de la abstencion y la recusacion y, por ultimo, el control de la desviacion de poder, supuesto tipico de vulneracion del principio de objetividad. Legal principle of objectivity is one of the Public Administration activity’s guiding principles and has a characteristic performance on urban planning matters. Connexion of the public administration’s decisions with the principle of objectivity on urban planning matters is demonstrated in several ways. In this note it is emphasized the role of the citizen participation on the process of approval of urban planning instruments and the abstention and recusal cases. Furthermore, it is analyzed the link between the principle of objectivity and the interdiction of the arbitrary on the public administration‘s decisions, and, finally, the illegal use of the public power, common case of infringement of the principle of objectivity.
