This paper describes and analyses the origin and development of Morelia Deaf Community, underlining the features that typified it, and some of the most outstanding occurrences of its past. Additionally, some similarities and contrasts between this community and that from the National School for Deaf-Mute People in Mexico City are shown through a brief review of the latter’s history
