Beliung persegi adalah artefak prasejarah yang menandai periode neolitik ketika manusia mulai hidup menetap dan mengembangkan teknologi yang mendukung kelangsungan hidup manusia. Temuan beliung persegi dari Kalimantan menunjukkan keragaman penggunaan dan distribusinya di Kalimantan, yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif yang menggunakan metode induktif. Penelitian lapangan dilakukan dengan menganalisis beliung persegi dari Kalimantan. Ternyata, beliung persegi  Kalimantan lebih banyak digunakan sebagai sosiofak  daripada teknofak. A stone adze is a prehistoric artefact that characterized the Neolithic period when human start to live more sedentary and developed technology to support human’s survival. The stone adzes recovered from Kalimantan show a variability of use and distribution in Kalimantan, which was the focus of this research. This is a descriptive research that employed an inductive method. Field research was carried  out by analyzing the stone adzes from Kalimantan. Apparently, the Kalimantan stone adzes were used more as sociofacts instead of technofacts.
