Preparation and properties of N-nitroso derivatives of nornicotine, anabasine, metanicotine and dihydrometanicotine are described. The corresponding N-amino compounds were obtained by reduction and were then transformed into 5-nitro-2-hydroxy-benzal derivatives for identification. Characteristics and spectra of the said compounds are indicated.
