In order to be successful in today’s world-class man ufacturing environment, companies have to fulfil se v ral requirements. The organizations are making hard eff orts to enhance their productivity and quality to s tay competitive. Total productive maintenance has provided a quantit ative metric tool, which is known as overall equipme nt effectiveness (OEE) to make them fit and agile for this competition . The OEE is a maintenance performance measurement t ool that measures different types of production losses and i icates the areas of process improvement. This st udy involves tabulation and calculation of all components of the OEE and the productivity index in a TPM Manager Mode l machine of a selected automobile industry. In this paper anpproach is developed to impart special autonomous maintenance training for Pilot team by an Education and Training pillar with a goal to raise operator’s skill levels and ownership for carrying out the measurement of OEE. The objective of this paper is to focus the measurement of OEE by inc orporating the autonomous maintenance training. It has been co n luded that OEE is a significant key performance ind icator tool that results into improvement of an overall operati onal performance and plant efficiency.
