This paper presents linear free vibration of thick isotropic circular plates using finite element sim ulation. The three-dimensional ‘SOLID185’ element of ANSYS is use d to calculate the natural frequencies of uniform c ir ular plates. Some numerical results are given for various aspect ra ios and boundary conditions at outer edges of t he plate. The accuracy and convergence of the method are demonstr ated by comparison studies with the available soluti ons in the literature.
