The online library services support to the growing academic community is a big source of concern, as i t calls for transformation of conventional library services to online information services. This study helps t o learn how the unique web based services enhance the quality of us ers and suggests new approaches for effective use o f web based information. This research is undertaken in respons e to the issue of the importance of academic librar y Web sites as a tool for the content representation. Libraries use their websites to provide services to the user’s de ktop without their physical presence. In Karnataka some libraries prov ide only minimal information about their resources, facilities and their library services, while many offer more libra y services list Web OPACs, access to online databa ses, e-resources, electronic reserves, Web-based user education tools , e-gateways, consortium, etc. There were many case studies available on the design and development of library websites, web resources, and role of library websites, web-ba sed library services, and major studies of individual library w ebsites in India and abroad. This study is focus on the web enabled library facilities and services provided to the end users via internet.
