Folkloric elements are the effective tool for exami ning cultural context of Adivasis. This paper focus ed on folkloric elements in the tribal work Kocharethi, e specially its bounds to the cultural context of Trib als in Kerala. It acts as a linking factor and connects people with their own rituals and customs. Postcolonial theory is used i n the paper to examine the symptomatic conditions of Tribals, their being, and their preserved indigenous cultural background s. Postcolonial terms like hybridity, crossculturalism, culturalident ity are the main titles which are analyzed in the p aper to examine how folkloric elements being part of Tribal’s life. Hybr idity refers here to identify mixedness, cultural i nfluences and tries to subvert traditional notion of Tribals. Crosscultur alism compares different cultures and promote vario us cultures at the time. Culturalidentity is a person’s self-percept ion it related to religion, locality, ethnicity and group and developed the idea that everyone has different cultural identity. The term Tribals used in the paper to make the idea th t Tribals are a particular group having their own indigenous cultur al heritages.
