The following report shows the experimental results of detecting Ru (ruthenium) element, in metamorphi c rocks, found on different geographic areas of Colom bian, performing X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (X RF). After field work, developed by the group and in order to classi fy the different rock samples, obtained at the outp ts from different Colombian areas (white beach in Santa Marta, Cartag ena, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Chicamocha ́s Can yon Santander and near Villa de Leyva Boyaca), in a partic ular group of samples (Chicamocha ́s Canyon Santande r), was detected Ru, by XRF a rare element in nature, but even more uncommon in this area.
