The methodology used in this paper is carrying an e valuation of the main approaches used for the creat ion of the new city Rabat from a bare ground, and the exper imentation of urban landscape based on spatial func tionalism, landscape treatment, urban composition and the arch itectural planning. The second part of the paper fo cus on the architectural styles developed in the new city that reflects the fusion of Western and local architectu ral features. Highlighting the architectural design influenced by different decorative art expressions which reflects the cultural and symbolic landmarks.
