A study was conducted in Ri-bhoi District of Meghal aya, with the objective of studying the extent of a doption of improved ginger cultivation practices, by the farme rs. For the purpose of the study 120 ginger growers were selected. Ex post facto research was followed. The collected dat a were processed through descriptive statistics, co rrelation analysis and regression analysis. The results revealed that, majo rity of the respondents (72.50%) had medium level o f adoption. Correlation analysis revealed that, variables namel y family type, size of operational land holding, oc cupational status, mass media exposure, extension contact, risk preference and economic motivation. Further, for regression an lysis, the variables which were found to have significant relationship w ith the dependent variable were considered. Thus, th is signified that, seven variables taken together could explain 54.1 p ercent, of the total variation in respondent’s exte n of adoption.
