This study involved isolation and diagnosis of 16 isolates of Enterococcus faecalis of the total 192 samples(urine ,stool , blood , wound , burns , ear and pharynge) collected from different hospital in Baquba for the period from October 2015 to February 2016 .The highest isolation rate 15.21% was from stool samples ، followed by 9.25% and 22.22% from urine and blood specimens respectively.The isolates was indentified and confirmed by using the VITEK2 (Biomerieux-France ) . The results of the investigation of the virulence factors of Enterococcus faecalis showed 75% isolates have the ability to produce bacteriocin ,while all isolates 100% have the ability to biofilm production and 69% isolates have efflux pump .The susceptibility of isolates against aminoglycoside showed that all isolates were resistant to Gentamicin with 100% The percentage of resistance to Streptomycin was 50% ,while resistance to Amikacin was 25% .DNA bacterial of Enterococcus faecalis isolates which appeared to be resistant to Gentamycin was extracted and presence of, aph(2")Ic gene was detected by using conventional PCR ،anylitic results shows by using Ultraviolet light source (260/280 nm) isolates have for aph(2")Ic with 444bp.
