In our country, legislation referring specifically to Higher Education for people with disabilities, establishes that the State must guarantee physical, communicational and academic accessibility for them. This group includes people with long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory deficiencies that, by interacting with various barriers, may prevent their full and effective participation in society, on equal terms with others. About academic accessibility, one of the possible barriers is having study materials in inaccessible formats, thus highlighting the importance of a consistent elaboration of them, with the role of new technology being central in this situation.
