This article presents the results of the research developed in the Professional Master’s Program in Network Educational Technologies (PPGTER) of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), which addresses the development of an app for mobile devices, APPrendendo, as an incentive medium to public school teachers from Alegrete-RS, to use the Educational Tablet resource, received from a government project to promote educational technologies. Starting from the hypothesis that tablets were little used due to the lack of specific apps aimed at teachers, by using procedures of action research, we aimed to raise the difficulties faced in the proposal, and then develop an application in order to solve the problem. The app was developed using Web Engineering methodology and the Hybrid approach. The requirements were obtained in workshops, which consisted of meetings with the teachers for validation and presentation of prototypes for the app. After completing the app, we applied a questionnaire to assess it. After analyzing the data, we found that the teachers considered the app able to be used as a methodological resource in their practices. We also verified that the developmental process of the app, in collaboration with the teachers, contributed to sensitization, which is another way to stimulate its use
