People with visual impairments have limited vision. People with visual impairments in their limitations require intensive guidance, assistance and care so that their living needs can be met. Without good guidance and direction, people with visual impairment will have difficulty in building their independence. The method used in scientific journals is the study of literature. Skills that are very basic for people with visual impairment are all things that lead to daily activities (activity of daily living). Persons with visual impairments need gradual, ongoing, and serious training through self-reliance activities with the aim of instilling an independent attitude in persons with visual impairments so that they do not always depend on others to fulfill their daily needs. In this case the need for the role of social workers involved in providing self-reliant activity of daily living with disabilities The role carried out by social workers will affect the successful establishment of the independence of the activity of daily living clients with blind persons. The role of social workers is as a facilitator, educator, counselor, empowerer, and group social mentor. In addition there are tasks of social workers in handling people with disabilities and the main task of the social work profession is to help individuals, groups and communities to function socially.
