Casa “del Mosaico de la Medusa” de Palencia. Una aproximación a su decoración pictórica y estucada

Emergency excavation work undertaken in the city of Palencia in 1994 revealed the remains of an important domus, judging from the materials uncovered. This present study provides a sample of the pictorial fragments and stuccos which reflect its ornamental richness, in particular of its triclinium. The pictorial decoration evidences a wide repertoire, ranging from marble imitations at the stone plinths to different types of candelabra in the inter-panels, in addition to other vegetable motifs or those of architectural inspiration.
