The Validity and Reliability of IT Teachers’ Professional Competencies Scale in Accordance with International ISTE-CSE Standards

Depending on the rapid changes in technology, it has become crucial to meet the professional development needs of IT teachers and develop their professional competencies within the framework of international standards. This study aimed at developing a measure that can be used to determine IT teachers’ professional competencies within the scope of international ISTE-CSE Standards. A total of 259 IT teachers working in different cities of Turkey participated in this study. A measure composed of 3 factors and 19 items with an internal consistency coefficient of α=.958 was obtained. It can be stated that the developed tool is a valid and reliable measure to determine IT teachers’ professional competency levels within the scope of ISTE-CSE Standard.
