Design of Experiment (DOE) is one of the extensively used methods for experimental study of manymanufacturing processes in engineering. DOE is a statistical approach in which a mathematical model isdeveloped through experimental runs. Thus, possible output can be predicted based on the inputparameters of the experimental setup. The present study reviews current literature on DOE techniques thathave been employed for various welding processes with particular emphasis on the application of Taguchimethod on fusion arc welding processes namely, gas tungsten arc welding and plasma arc welding.
