Sharing the results of scientific work with a broad audience enhances knowledge and understanding of the topic as well as it might stimulate further research within the field. Furthermore, well respected publications are the foundation of career advancement for each individual scientist. Poor presentation of data and results often causes manuscript rejection from journal editors and scientific reviewers and might lead to low impact publication or no publication at all. Despite that correlation the art of scientific writing is rarely part of our curricula for higher education. This article addresses the young scientists and is meant to provide some basic recommendations on scientific writing as a starting point for the develop- ment of a proper scientific manuscript.
