The accumulation of low density polyethylene is a problem that seeks prompt and effective solutions. In this sense, the present research article proposes an alternative use of these polymeric residues. The pyrolysis process allows degradation to commercial fuels with considerable advantages; it’s the case of hydrocarbons with less sulfur. The characterization of the recovery products of a mixture of low and high density polyethylene is reported. The products obtained were compared with commercial parameters for regular gasoline, extra gasoline, virgin naphtha and high octane alkylate; finding that the majority of the fractions present a mixture of regular gasoline and extra gasoline, for intervals of temperature between 120 ° C and 320 ° C. Also, a pyrolysis reactor was designed and built with the following conditions: vacuum system, a two-stage rotary pump, use of fluidized bed of raw material, separation of products through the condenser removing sub-products,Pressure release system and lateral detachment.
