Portal hypertension (PH) is hemodynamical abnormality associated with the most serious complications of alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC): ascites, varices and variceal bleeding. The aim of this study was to determine characteristics of portal hypertension, especially of upper gastrointestinal bleedings in patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis (ALC).
