An efficient and practical synthesis of 1,3,5-trisubstituted 2-pyrazo- line structures was achieved through cyclization of phenylhydrazine with α,β- -unsaturated ketones (chalcones) using methanoic acid (formic acid) as catalyst under thermal condition.
