Ca(II) macrocyclic complexes [(Et 4 [n]tetraeneN 4 )CaX 2 ] (where n = 14. 16, 20. 24, 32, X = Cl - , NCS - ) have been synthesized via cyclocondensation of 3,4-hexanedione with aliphatic diamines, such as 1,3-diaminopropane, 1,4-diaminobutane. 1,6-diaminohexane, 1,8-diaminooctane or 1,12-diaminododecane. The synthesized complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurements and IR and 1 H-NMR spectroscopy.
