This paper presents a fixed point theorem for a self-mapping defined on probabilistic Menger spaces satisfying nonlinear generalized contractive type conditions. The theorem is an improvement of a result presented by B.S. Choudhury, K. Das: A new contraction principle in Menger spaces, Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.), 24 (2008), 1379–1386. This is illustrated with an example
