This work describes the evaluation of the activity against the coffee berry borer of 21 methanolic extracts of plants collected in the Natural Reserve Bremen-La Popa (Quindio). The bioassays were made under controlled conditions (23±3 oC; 75±5 % H.R.), using like experimental unit an eppendorf with a parchment coffee impregnated with extract at 1000 mg/L and a mature female coffee berry borer inside, 90 repetitions for each extract were done. Every four days, for 40 days, to recount of the biological states of two experimental units of each extract was made, it was found that some methanolic extracts showed activity against the coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei, Ferrari).
