This study is linked to the graduate program in education at the University of West of ParanaUNIOESTE and aims to understand the path of implementation of the Basic education school in special education in the State of Parana. It is characterized as descriptive, bibliographical and documentary research, according to a qualitative model. The Basic education school in special education had its implementation based on the national and state policies, and it began in a troubled moment after the national policy for special education in the perspective of inclusive education (2008). In 2011, the RES. 3600/2011GS\SEED changed the denomination of special education schools to basic education schools in special education, including the certification of students. After three years, the implementation required readjustment because students couldn't learn the curriculum content planned for the school year in which they were registered. It has resulted a large percentage of disapproval at the end of 2014. Thus, we conclude that further studies on the pedagogical practices are necessary in order to help the appropriation of knowledge on the part of these students.
