This article studies the environmental factors produced by the textile sector (dyeing, finishing, printing and denim washing) in the Valle de Aburrá. This industry consumes chemicals within its processes and, consequently, causes environmental pollution, which has prompted the implementation of legal regulations that establish controls and monitoring. Hence, this sector must identify the environmental factors affecting its processes in order to develop strategies to minimize the pollution produced. Using a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach, the control variables are described, according to their productive activity, which are related to water and chemical consumption in their processes, establishing the environmental factors. An interview was conducted with 34 companies in the sector. It was possible to identify their distribution in the Aburrá
