Citizen training has to do with the way in which the subject becomes a citizen through a process of appropriation of political, legal and social elements, which enable their active and meaningful participation in society. In this article, based on initial teacher training, emphasis is placed on the political dimension of education for citizenship, since its dynamics and purpose enhance its development and represent a multidirectional scenario that allows for feedback to educational institutions through pedagogical practice. The evidence for these results comes from a qualitative descriptive type of research, which followed the ethnographic method, and whose purpose was to analyze a teaching practice seminar from a political perspective, and to develop a timely and effective process in the education for citizenship of students of a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. This study was developed within the framework of the doctoral degree in Education of the University of Antioquia, was endorsed by some other institutions, and ended in 2017.
