Minha mãe é belíssima: o elogio excessivo como estratégia de (im)polidez em negociação no contato intercultural entre duas estudantes de português brasileiro como segunda língua

In this study, we propose to examine, by interactional sociolinguistics and pragmatics, how excessive compliment is evaluated by the Spanish speakers students in the context of Brazilian portuguese teaching as second language. According to the data analyzed, we’ve noticed that the participant Nora, differently from Flora, evaluated positively the use of the compliment (her purpose was to do the selected pedagogical activity and highlight the positive characteristics of her mother).
