Objective: To identify the perception of high school students regarding the role of teachers in the construction of their life project and the relations set towards the projection of their happiness. Methodology: A mixed approach based on theoretical aspects of the cultural, subjective happiness, which moves along its construction inside a school scenario. Results: There is evidence of high  school students longing for having a life project, which will make them happy. This aspect is closely associated to the professional aspect, where the teacher has a low contribution in the construction of such longing. Conclusion: it is necessary to visualize a teacher role which contributes to the students’ happiness, with the aim of helping them to construct their life project by themselves not because of the imposition of the system.
