Objective: to describe the characteristics of the self-perception on 12 year-old age infants in a situation of forced displacement at an educational Institution in Mocoa, Putumayo. Methodology: this research involved a purposive sample of 43 cases; a Mini kid interview was implemented for the selection of these cases; and the test AFA 5 was applied for the data collection process, through a cross-sectional descriptive study. Findings: the infants who were interviewed showed, except for the scores obtained regarding their emotional dimension, a level of a general self-perception with a resulting score higher than the one showed by the scales of the test. Conclusions: despite the situation of forced displacement these infants have undergone, they have been able to overcome the impact of the psychological trauma, most likely coming from their capacity of resilience to overtake periods of emotional pangs.
