Effects of New Business of Energy Industries Education Program on the High School Students' Environmental Awareness and Attitudes

The purpose of this study was to analyze the change in environmental awareness and attitudes of high school students who participated in new business of energy industries education program supported by energy climate change teacher research society in 2017. We used the reformed CHEAKS (Children‘s Environmental Attitude and Knowledge Scale) to investigate the level of environmental awareness and attitudes with 18 questions. New business of energy industries education program were divided into four areas: energy and climate change, new and renewable energy, new business of energy industries, and new business of energy industries and career. The level of environmental attitudes such as cognitive domain, definitive domain, and behavioral domain, were significantly higher as a whole after participating in new business of energy industries education program. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an energy new industry education program to raise students' awareness and attitude toward the environment. Through the quantitative analysis of energy new industry education program supported by energy climate change teacher research society, the positive effect in the process of planning, implementing, and evaluating each of the energy new industry education program were extracted. Therefore, by sharing the positive effect of energy new industry education program, it may boost more positive effects on environmental awareness and attitudes of students.
