Developing better methods for monitoring ovarian function and predicting in vitro fertilization outcome is an area of considerable current interest in the assisted reproductive technology field. This article provides an overview of the current protocols used for assessing ovarian function, as well as examining a range of markers of ovarian follicle quantity and quality.
