In the Hemodialysis (HEMO) Study, observed small decreases in achieved equilibrated Kt/V(urea) were noncausally associated with markedly increased mortality. Here we examine the association of mortality with modeled volume (V(m)), the denominator of equilibrated Kt/V(urea).
