Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. This study evaluated the association of genotype polymorphisms of MMPs and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) in hemodialysis (HD) patients with arteriovenous fistula (AVF) failure.
