In recent years, allergy skin testing has increasingly become an area of interest and is being widely performed by physicians other than allergists and immunologists. In this article, the indications, necessity, selection of allergens to be used, risks and adverse events, essential precautions during application, evaluation methods, and disadvantages of evaluation mistakes of allergy skin tests and why they should be performed by an allergist or immunologist are reviewed.
