ing. In an attempt to yield empirical data supporting the need for such initiatives, the authors have conducted analysis on the publication and authorship patterns of female researchers in ICAD conferences. Over the past few years, several similar papers have been published about other related communities, such as the Audio Engineering Society (AES), the International Computer Music Association (ICMA) [2], and the Conferences of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR) [3]. Even though crossstudy comparisons are not feasible due to differences in methodology and data analysis, each publication offers a valuable perspective on the topic. Hopefully, this increase in the number of studies revealing the under-representation of women scientists and artists in audio and music-related research-fields, will stimulate people’s interest in this issue and lead to the necessary actions to resolve the situation.
