Science communication is responsible for the dissemination of scientific knowledge in and for society. Its role is fundamental for the democratization of knowledge, citizen formation, and public opinion. Specifically, in Brazil, science communication is important in a process that connects university and society, since much of the science done in the country happens in universities. Thus, there must be a project that enables the understanding of scientific production and presents its importance for society. This work is part of ongoing research that aims to understand the importance of Design and Visual Communication for the 1 Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG) – Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasil. We hypothesize that the combination of Design in association with Plain Language can be a powerful tool in communication and organization practices that make it easier to read and understand information. In this sense, the work will seek to explore the possibilities of the contribution of this area of knowledge to scientific dissemination through the propositions of Clear Language.
